Asking yourself the following simple questions can help clarify your needs, preferences, and priorities when choosing one of the NDIS Plan Management options available to you.

What level of control do I want over my NDIS funds and services?
Do I prefer a hands-on approach where I manage everything myself, or would I rather have someone else handle the financial administration?

How much time will it take if a choose to self-manage?
How many services do I need? How many invoices do I need to handle every week/month? Would I rather have someone else handles everything, or am I willing to put in the work and time for greater autonomy and choice?

How comfortable am I with financial management and administrative tasks?
Am I confident in my ability to manage budgets, invoices, and paperwork, or would I prefer someone else handle these tasks?

What level of flexibility do I need in choosing service providers?
Do I have specific providers or services in mind that I want to access, and do I need the flexibility to choose both registered and non-registered providers?

How important is it for me to have personalized support and guidance?
Do I value having someone available to answer questions, provide advice, and assist me in navigating the NDIS system?

What is my budget for management fees?
Am I willing to pay fees for plan management services, and if so, how much am I comfortable allocating from my NDIS funding? Fees for a plan manager are set and allocated by the NDIA.

Have I considered my long-term goals and how my chosen management plan aligns with them?
Do I anticipate any changes in my circumstances or support needs that might impact my choice of management plan in the future?

By reflecting on pros and cons of each plan against your individual circumstances, and asking yourself these questions you can make a more informed decision about which NDIS Management Plan is the best fit for you.
