It was a delightful afternoon, when residents and staff came together to celebrate the official opening of Rosemount Retirement Community, in Sinnamon Park, Brisbane. With Stage 2 completed and new residents moving in, Rosemount has become an even more vibrant community, filled with laughter, friends and beautiful memories.

Interest remained high during construction, with 95% of stage 2 apartments under contract upon completion and a substantial waitlist. This reflects strong community demand for quality retirement living homes. If you are looking to move into one of our retirement villages, get on the list early

Doug and Sue Trenchard are new to the community, and they couldn’t be happier with their decision to move into Rosemount.

The couple laugh about the shock value their move into retirement living had (watch their story).

Our friends were horrified, “you’re too young” they said

Both agree it was an easy move and they’ve just ‘slotted right in’. As Sue said:

There’s always somebody to have a chat with or you meet in the lift or the lobby. That's been very convivial.

Jude Emmer, Wesley Mission Queensland’s Chief Executive Officer, was present to commemorate the milestone. “What I'm most proud of is our organisation's legacy of creating communities,” said Jude.

Premium facilities

While both still working, Doug and Sue love having lunch at the on-site café, going for walks around the manicured gardens, planning gym excursions, and enjoying their own garden. Future plans include giving the bridge club and snooker a go.

With facilities including a café, cinema, library, gym, heated swimming pool, multi-purpose activity rooms, and an on-site bus station, Rosemount is more like a resort than a retirement community.

And truly top location

Rosemount is a very attractive retirement option not only for its state-of-the-art facilities. The retirement complex is part of WMQ's Sinnamon Village precinct, offering retirement living, a wellbeing centre with a hydrotherapy pool and a modern senior's gym, respite care, residential aged care and disability accommodation all in the same community.

Located at the heart of Sinnamon Park, local cafés and cinemas are only a 10-minute walk away or a 2-minute ride on the village bus. The on-site bus station provides quick links to the CBD and greater Brisbane.

Do it sooner. Move sooner. Downsize sooner … A lot of sentimentality, a lot of emotion goes into something like this. And it's better to do it earlier rather than later, or leave it to your children to sort out. You know, I think my two boys are quite relieved that we’re here and I've done the job for them.
