The Wellbeing Mental Health Service is a Brisbane South PHN (link opens in new window) commissioned mental health service all of which share a common set of core principles: compassionate practice, human rights focus, consumer defined and supporter empowering, equity of access and cultural respect and capability. These principles focus on the person at the centre, surrounded by natural and broader community supports.

There is no cost involved for using this service. To access it, you must live in the Brisbane South region. The service accepts self-referrals and referrals from professionals (with consent from the individual).

The program aims to have no waitlist to access the service. However, at times you may need to leave a message with your Wellbeing Consultant, and you may experience small queues at times if you choose to drop-in to a centre. Please keep in mind that our program does not operate to support crisis or emergency situations.

Yes, as long as the service you are already receiving is not the same as what is offered under this program. For example you can access Psychological Therapies at the same time as the Wellbeing Mental Health Service as each service offers support in different ways.
A mental health care plan is a plan your doctor writes with you about treating a mental health condition. It helps you to access eligible allied health professionals like psychologists, social workers or occupational therapists. You do not need a mental health care plan to access the Wellbeing Mental Health Service.
