Your health and wellbeing is our priority. From 24/7 nursing care to allied health services, dementia care, palliative care and spiritual care and support, our approach to care is personalised.
Wesley Mission Queensland's aged care communities are the only ones in QLD fully registered with the Eden Alternative™ philosophy of care – which focuses on eliminating loneliness, helplessness and boredom and promoting meaningful relationships and companionship.
Wesley Mission Queensland believes that your health and wellbeing is our priority. We aim to provide responsive and flexible care appropriate to your changing needs at all of our residential aged care homes. Our approach to care is personalised and relationship-centred – we get to know you, and over time, build important bonds of trust. All our aged care homes have access to :

Our passionate staff provide dementia support across all our aged care homes.
We work closely with residents living with dementia and their families to establish a relationship-centred care environment. This helps us assess and develop a holistic care plan. Our focus extends beyond a diagnosis of dementia – we believe in engaging residents with meaningful activities (meaningless activity destroys the human spirit and the sense of sameness or lack of control often leads to boredom). The Eden validated model of care provides the opportunity to do things that all residents find meaningful, which is essential for their overall wellbeing.
Bethesda Caring Centre and Clear Mountain Cottage (in our Anam Cara community) have been specifically developed to reflect the latest thinking on the best ways to care for people who are living with dementia. This includes:
Taking care of your spiritual and emotional wellbeing is just as important as your physical health.
Our chaplains and pastoral carers are here to listen to you and to help you find strength as you adjust to a challenge or a new beginning. It's the very simple gift of spiritual comfort – their time, companionship and understanding. Chaplains are available to you and your family, regardless of your faith, at all our residential aged care homes. They provide services including:
As a Uniting Church organisation, our on-site church services are conducted from this tradition. Church service times vary and can be obtained from any member of your chaplaincy team. Where there is enough demand, we can also facilitate services from other religious faiths. Our staff and chaplains will, on request, liaise with ministers from other religions on your behalf.
We believe in living a life of meaning, purpose and grace. For aged care residents experiencing serious illnesses, nothing is more important than the people who will provide physical, emotional and spiritual care. We recognise dying as a part of life yet focus on making whatever time that remains as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
Whether it’s soft lighting, aromatherapy or background music, we’re here to facilitate and support you. We can also connect you and your family with the necessary resources and care. If requested, we can arrange clergy visits from all denominations at any of our residential aged care homes. Wesley Mission Queensland’s palliative care services are adapted to support your individual health care needs. We can also access advice and support for palliative care through the base hospitals.
We encourage and support advance care planning to help you and your family plan your care requirements as your needs change, including offering a palliative approach to care. Advance care planning is an important part of the palliative approach to care. It involves discussing and documenting your choices about care if there comes a time when you can no longer make decisions for yourself. This approach removes the stress and anxiety for your family who otherwise may be asked to make these decisions. Our Chaplains are also available to provide pastoral care, spiritual support and counselling.
Palliative care is available at all Wesley Mission Queensland aged care homes.
