Exhibitions, performances and professional workshops for people of all abilities aged 16+. We welcome individuals living with mental health issues, physical or intellectual disabilities or experiencing homelessness and social isolation.
At Art from the Margins (AFTM) Gallery & Studios, we offer workshops focused on skills and professional development, along with artist support. Our exhibition program showcases multiple artists each year, providing opportunities to generate income by selling their work.
To help artists reach a wider audience, we now offer artworks for purchase online.
Established in 2008, Art from the Margins (AFTM) began as a program to support homeless artists through an art award and exhibition held at the Albert Street Uniting Church in Brisbane. With the support of Wesley Mission Queensland, AFTM has expanded its services and art prize to artists living with adversity throughout the Brisbane region and beyond.
Our vision is to transform the lives of those experiencing adversity and disability through the joy of art, by being a leading provider of visual arts programs and opportunities for disadvantaged artists in Queensland.
At AFTM Studio & Gallery, Wesley Arts touches the lives of thousands of Queenslanders. Last year we saw across all Wesley Arts locations:
“I want to give high marks to the courtesy and graciousness of the staff. Excellent place to visit when you want quality art at modest prices.”
